Fast And Free wins easily
Congratulations go out to the Rockmount Syndicate (Mgr: Mr Geoff Guest, Mrs. Jill Kewish & Mr. Damien Murphy) on the victory of Fast And Free at Wangaratta on Monday over 1150m.
Fast And Free (Fastnet Rock) was purchased by the Rockmount Syndicate at the Melbourne Premier yearling sale for $145,000 and has always shown us promise on the training track and we have been patient with him to date.
The gelding had ran second at his first start before being well ridden by jockey Ibrahim Gundogdu at Wangaratta to claim his maiden victory. From the barrier Ibrahim had the horse positioned midfield and it was obvious that he wasn’t handling the heavy track conditions. Rounding the turn the young jockey got the horse to the outside and once in clear space the horse quickly rounded up his rivals for a 2.8 length victory.
Mick Price had this to say regarding the victory “nice win by a gelding I have a bit of time for. He obviously didn’t handle the track and still had the class to easily put pay to his rivals for a nice first up victory.”
