Snitzel X Oriental Ruby

Snitzel X Oriental Ruby

1 year old Brown Colt

Sire: Snitzel Dam: Oriental Ruby

Check out the video footage of the Snitzel x Oriental Ruby colt parading at the Magic Millions yearling sale.

“…Snitzel is the stallion of the moment. Recent Group 1 winners Redzel and Russian Revolution plus Sizzling and Wandjina already at stud have really sparked interest in trying to get a son of Snitzel. I think this colt is well bought, he is athletic and may make a 2yo as he is out of a tough Street Cry mare who was best at 1400m to 1600m. I like those sprinting colts that are out of mares that throw a bit of depth into the colt. He is a good walking horse, he seems an even tempered horse so certainly committed to keeping him as a colt for as long as we can. We will put him on a program to help him be a 2yo as he is a neat walking, well balanced colt out of a tough mare and I think he is going to make it as a 2yo and train on as a spring 3yo.…” Mick Price

Snitzel is one of Australia’s premier sires with an impressive progeny record including:

  • Sire of 12 Group 1 winners and 76 individual stakes winners
  • 7.5% stakes winners to starters ratio in Australasia
  • Over $96 million in progeny earnings to date.
  • This season he has sired Redzel (G1), Heavenly Blue (G1), Invader (G1), Russian Revolution (G1), Summer Passage (G1), Trapeze Artist (G1), Farson (G2), Menari (G2), Showtime (G2), Snitty Kitty (G2) etc.

He is a great sire and his progeny are sought after at sales all around the country.

The dam of this colt is Oriental Ruby, a Group-placed daughter of champion sire and racehorse Street Cry. On the track Oriental Ruby won five races including three in metropolitan Melbourne and was Group-placed in the Cockram Stakes and the Stock Stakes. Our colt is Oriental Ruby’s second foal and her first foal is a full sister in the stable of Joe Pride. Oriental Ruby is closely related to Listed winner Dancefloor Doll and Group 1 winners Full And By and Mon Mekki.
