Snitzel X Emilydelago
2 year old Bay Filly
Sire: Snitzel Dam: Emilydelago
You can’t get a hotter sire than Snitzel. Everyone wants one. Snitzel has sired 68 individual stakes winners to date including 11 individual Group 1 winners, the likes of Russian Revolution, Shamus Award, Wandjina, Sizzling, Snitzeland and Sweet Idea. Let’s not forget Snitzel’s juveniles Summer Passage, Odyssey Moon, El Divino, Flying Snitzel, and Oakleigh Girl who have all raced in the highest of company and are Group winners themselves.
This filly is out of the Encosta De Lago mare Emilydelago, a metropolitan winner of three races including a win as a 2yo. At stud, Emilydelago has produced stakes-placed metropolitan winner Zellini, as well as winning fillies Lake Mountain and Rakitno, a recent winner and multiple metropolitan-placed daughter of Not A Single Doubt. Emilydelago is half-sister to Group 3 winner Shanghai Warrior and from the fast Australian family that has produced Group 1 winner Drought and stakes winners Salcantay and Perfect Feeling.
Mick Price had this to say about the Snitzel filly: “….A super vobis filly off the same farm as Global Glamour where a lot of nice horses have come off that farm. She is by the hottest stallion in this country in Snitzel and everyone wants a Snitzel but we got her at good value. Interesting filly, leggy, not necessarily a short coupled running 2yo but that is certainly not why we purchased her. She is a great walker and relaxed and with her good Matchem Rating she may make a brilliant 2yo, who knows but certainly I think she has the physical scope to be a good 3yo Thousand Guineas type filly.…”
